I work for SHP - a charity offering tenancy support to vulnerable people. I have some first hand knowledge and would like to write about the issues people with low income/on benefits have in relation to housing.

I'm a housing regulation officer, working with landlords and others to improve the safety standards of properties in the private sector. I have predominantly worked in Local Authorities ,and now do so in a freelance capacity, and not in a politically restricted post. I've worked and been involved in the housing sector in a variety of capacities for around 30 years. I passionately believe that the right housing policies can redefine the party and be the key to dealing with many of the nation's issues. I'm keen to contribute to policy debate and to help promote the party through housing policy.
